Spinning too many plates as you constantly juggle the needs of others? Feeling anxious, depressed and overwhelmed? Running on empty?

I’m a BACP registered integrative counsellor and therapist offering short and long-term therapy for adults, both in-person, online and by telephone, working with clients from all over Battersea, Tooting, Putney, Earlsfield, Balham and Crystal Palace. I also work for a local NHS Talking Therapy service.

I am particularly interested in how we communicate in our relationships and navigate the pressures of everyday life both at home and at work.

I am here to listen and sensitively support you.

I invite you a warm, calm, and empathetic space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

Do any of these feel familiar?

  • Are you contemplating a work shift or second career?

  • Do you have a parent with dementia or a serious illness and feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of organising their care?

  • Are you trying to meet the needs of your stressed children sitting their GCSEs and A Levels?

  • Do you feel bereft and sad looking at the empty bed of your now adult child who has gone to university or left home?

  • Do you yearn for more time with your partner? Or crave independence and freedom?

  • Is it hard to accept and embrace your body changing as the years go by?

  • Are you mourning intimacy?

Whatever your age, you matter.

  • You may be lonely, or in need of someone to talk to.

  • You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or unfulfilled.

  • You may be experiencing ongoing conflict in your relationship, struggling with grief, sadness, or exhaustion.

  • You may have diagnosed or undiagnosed Autism (ASD) or ADHD and are finding it increasingly hard as the years pass by to regulate your emotions in this increasingly neurotypical world.

  • You may be feeling stuck and want to bring about changes?

If any of these resonate then I may well be the counsellor for you.

About me

After a lengthy English teaching career of 25 years at a local inner-city state secondary school, I understand the vast impact that work pressures and intense scrutiny place on our mental health as well as on our relationships with our children, partners, and parents. Having chosen to change direction and re-train, I am now immersed in my second career of counselling and am thoroughly committed to supporting my adult clients.

How I work

Integrative therapy doesn’t use just one approach or model. It is flexible and adaptive responding to your needs and the problems and concerns you choose to bring to our sessions. At the heart of integrative therapy is the collaborative relationship between us. We work together, yet you are the expert on you. Our work is often underpinned by a blend of psychodynamic, attachment-based and humanistic approaches. I offer you a weekly 50-minute opportunity to talk, share and self-explore in a confidential space without judgement.

My role is to listen to you and support you to be curious as you try to find meaning in this often confusing, overwhelming world.

It is my hope that we forge a trusting and non-judgmental relationship and that working together helps you to develop your self-awareness, support your well-being, enhance your autonomy and self-compassion.

Stories & Patterns

‘There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.’  Maya Angelou

I am interested in your early attachment stories and relational experiences. It is likely we will explore how the past has impacted your current relationships and shapes the patterns and life-long thinking of your adult life.

Working together we will try to make meaning as you share your story with me.

Curiosity

‘Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.’ (Socrates)

My wish is that our collaboration will deepen your curiosity, encourage you to feel more self-aware, secure and self-accepting as you navigate the pressures, challenges and adjustments of everyday life.

Fee

I charge £66 per sessions (50 minutes) for in-person, online and telephone appointments.

I offer a discount to counsellors in training.

Next steps

Once you have contacted me, I get back to you as promptly as I can and invite you for a free 15-minute telephone conversation. This gives you the opportunity to share with me the hopes and expectations you have for therapy.

Assuming you feel we are potentially a good fit; we then arrange our first session and meet either in-person or online.

There is no obligation to book more than this first session. We will take it from there.
